When you offer high quality, private healthcare at the same affordable cost for everyone, it’s fundamental that the health and wellbeing of your employees is at the forefront of your HR strategy.

Benenden Health was founded in 1905 initially to help pay for treatment for postal workers suffering from Tuberculosis (TB). Today, Benenden Health is one of the leading healthcare communities in the UK, helping over 800,000 members access affordable healthcare whenever they need it.

Financial wellbeing is a core part of the company ethos and supporting its 700 plus UK-wide employees through financial worries, as well as providing other mental and physical wellbeing support, was a crucial factor in appointing Zest as its employee benefits platform provider.

“We were looking for a platform that delivers an exceptional employee experience, one which enables our people to tailor and manage their own benefits package whenever and wherever they want throughout the year,” said Pay and Reward Manager at Benenden Health, Katie Frain. “We also wanted the best possible management, reporting and analytics functionality. On all counts, Zest has delivered; we are delighted with the new platform which gives us everything we asked for, including cost effectiveness and flexibility in configuration.”

Zest’s solutions are built on rapid, powerful client configuration, enabling business to offer employee benefits without compromising on the cost of technology, user experience or performance. The result is a fully-engaged workforce thanks to intelligent scheme design, an exceptional user experience and precisely targeted email communications.

Benenden Health launched its MyRewards platform at the height of lockdown, just as workers were getting used to a more virtual way of working, which actually helped enhance the launch – already three quarters of the workforce have registered.

Earlier this year, Benenden Health was named by the Sunday Times as one of the top 100 Not for Profit organisations to work for. The partnership with Zest, which began towards the end of 2019, contributed to the award win.

“The feedback from staff about the platform has been fantastic – everyone who has registered has engaged incredibly well and the level of service Zest has delivered in each step of the way to implementation of MyRewards has been incredibly impressive,” added Katie. “Zest has played an intrinsic role in the ongoing success of our Health & Wellbeing strategy.”

Zest CEO Ray Sieber said: “We’re delighted to be working with yet another Sunday Times 100 company and look forward to an ongoing partnership with Benenden Health, helping deliver exemplary benefits for all of the organisation’s hardworking employees.”
